Salomon Block
Address
3 Main Street
Historical Information
Built by Jacob Salomon in 1912. The building features an angled Georgian Revival design. The building is a culmination of three decades of Main Street development begun by H.L. Tilton's Opera Block. The building echoes the Tilton Opera Block's cast iron moldings and keystoned windows. It once housed the Star Theater, the town's first movie theater, operated by John B. Eames. Today, the building consists of commercial storefronts and modern apartments on the second and third floors featuring riverside views. The Salomon Block received a New Hampshire Main Street Award for the remodeling work done to the building.
